When people think of the Big Apple, they think of The Statue of Liberty, The Times Square, Fashion Capital and F.R.I.E.N.D.S but for me New York is my dream city. Though my plan is to start my career in London, I eventually want to end up in New York. The rush in the city and the whole vibe is infectious, I want to be able to breathe and take the city in as a member of the fashion industry and I hope for that day to come really soon. New York is a melting pot of cultures, people from all race and religion will be found there.
New York has had a major influence on the fashion industry and trends are set by the commoners on the streets, quite literally. New designs are innovated and discovered in the city within seconds. It’s a great shopping destination and TV Shows such as Gossip Girl & F.R.I.E.N.D.S have really set the benchmark high in terms of fashion. I went to New York 7 years ago as a teenager but I still have such fond memories about the city.
If I do get permission from my parents, I would love to apply to Fashion Institute Of Technology for their Global Fashion Management course, which is spread across three continents, Asia, America and Europe. Since I love traveling and want to experience different cultures in regards with my career, I thought this seemed like the most apt course to add to my foundation.
