Skills To Develop & Ambitions For The Future

I plan to be a fashion stylist after graduation. My ambition is to work under one of the best fashion houses and styling celebrities for movies, I am one of those people who doesn't like to be in the limelight and work behind the scenes.

The skills I need to develop for my goal is to be able to start conversations be confident and knowledgeable about the latest fashion trends. I understand different body types and have an eye for detail.

Some of the skills needed for my profession are:

• Awareness of art, design and fashion history

• Business skills such as marketing, networking and advertising

• Effective communication skills to work with clients

• Creativity and innovation

• Eye for detail and Well organized

• Picking clothing and accessories for editorial features and advertisements, concerts, music videos, films and TV shows

• Working with designers, tailors, models, photographers, hair and makeup artists, retailers, members of the media, publicists, celebrities and public figures

• Creating an image for celebrities

• Researching fabrics, clothing construction and fashion accessories

• Attending fashion shows and Predicting and spotting fashion trends

• Locating clothing from all over the world and Building professional networks

I plan on pursuing a short course on styling at the London College of Fashion. I do understand that to get into this profession I would have to start with the less interesting works such as ironing clothes, running errands to find outfits and helping the seniors at shoots. I love attending fashion shows, networking with people, exploring new cultures and interacting with designers. At the end of it all I want is my family and friends to be proud of me, I come from business family where no one think fashion is an industry to prosper and this is my way of changing their mindset.

Interests/Passions – My interests and passion lie within food & fashion. I love watching movies, trying out new restaurants and exploring new fashion stores in the city in my personal time.

Strengths – Constantly grabbing any opportunity that comes my way and trying to stay in touch and connect with people in the industry. Always wanting to learn more.

Weaknesses – Constantly working on my portfolio in order to make it better. Not so well taught in the photography area.

Differentiator – My constant urge to know about different topics in the fashion world. My life experiences coming which included me staying in different parts of the world throughout my life and bringing in different cultures into my learnings.

Personality – Slightly Confident and well spoken

360 feedback – Take in feedbacks from friends and lecturers, record them for future help. Keep a track of all recommendations given by my high school teachers and boss at internship during college.

Goals – I want to achieve a degree with First or Upper second class honors and learn as much as I can both professionally and personally until the end of my college journey.
